Hotel Information: After the hustle and bustle of the Venice waterfront, the peaceful atmosphere of the century-old Savoia and Jolanda Hotel is a welcome respite. Formerly private houses, its foyer features dark wood classical Venetian furniture and fittings, leather Chesterfield sofas, decorative Murano glass, mosaic stone floors and Persian-style rugs.
Amenity highlights: The hotel has its own landing stage for arrival and excursions by water taxi. A complimentary American buffet breakfast is served each morning and the hotel restaurant serves typical Venetian dishes Guests can also become part of the busy waterfront scene, dining or drinking on the terrace.
Insider tip: One of Venice’s most famous building, the Doge’s Palace, is less than 100 metres from the hotel. Try to visit late afternoon when many of the large tour groups have departed (it stays open until 7 PM). Better still take the Secret Itinerary (Itinerari Segreti) – a 90-minute guided tour which shows you places the standard tour does not cover. You must book a minimum of one day ahead.
