Hotel Information: Nestled in Beaver Creek Mountain’s exclusive Bachelor Gulch neighborhood—25 steps from the Bachelor Gulch Express—this secluded mountain resort caters to an affluent clientele that wishes to be pampered with privacy. Inspired by the grand lodges of Yellowstone and Yosemite, the design of this Ritz Carlton employs logs, stones, and other indigenous materials to help it blend with its natural setting.
Insider tip: Top-notch skiers looking for a test will find it at the Talons, Beaver Creek’s most advanced terrain. It’s named for the claw-like appearance on trail maps of the three chairlifts—Birds of Prey Express, Grouse Mountain Express, and Larkspur Lift—that rise from the Red Tail Camp area and serve the predominantly black and double-black diamond runs.
Amenity highlights: Guests unwind in the Great Room, a rustic lounge featuring a three-story stone fireplace over which Elwood the elk’s head is mounted. Guests also enjoy a 21,000-square-foot spa and fitness center that includes a coed rock grotto relaxation room, spa tubs, and sauna. On the slopes, skiers enjoy ski valet services, while adults appreciate the Ski Nanny program. Spago offers fine dining and the Buffalo Room is a hopping après-ski spot.
