Travel Details

The Lodge at Vail, A RockResort

Hotel Information: Founded in 1962, this lodge was Vail’s first, and soon became the cornerstone property of what was eventually to become Vail Village. It is known for the loyalty of its clientele, a mix of affluent singles and couples of all ages. Location is a big draw; the hotel is in the middle of Vail Village, adjacent to the Vista Bahn lift. A red-carpeted grand staircase and a Bavarian-style mural highlight the Alpine-inspired lobby.

Amenity highlights: The acclaimed Wildflower restaurant serves creative American cuisine in an ultra-romantic setting, including soft lighting, oversized floral arrangements, and a wall of windows facing the garden. Cucina Rustica is famed for its Italian fare and ski-season lunch buffet, while Mickey’s is a locally beloved piano bar. The Lodge at Vail maintains a fleet of Volvos for complimentary guest use, based on availability.
