Hotel Information: Located at the entrance to the Beaver Creek ski resort, this eight-story villa hotel offers affordable, upscale accommodations, as well as a convenient location for exploring the surrounding Vail Valley. The Sheraton Mountain Vista Resort appeals to vacationers—couples, families, small groups of friends—who want access to the area’s famed slopes, but don’t want to spend all their money on an address.
Amenity highlights: Natural-wood columns and accents, a multi-toned slate floor, leather armchairs and sofas, and an oversized stone fireplace highlight the lobby, an intimate spot for guests. The seventh-floor sundeck, with indoor and outdoor spa tubs, offers mountain views. It’s accessible through the fitness center, which includes a sauna and steam room, along with mountain views from tall, arched windows.
Insider tip: Located five miles west of Avon and Beaver Creek, the former ranching and farming community of Edwards—founded in 1876—is fast becoming the locals’ favorite hangout. This Victorian town features an old-fashioned movie theater and dozens of unique shops, restaurants, bars, galleries, and coffeehouses throughout the Edwards Village Center and Riverwalk at Edwards on the Eagle River.
