Travel Details

The Prince Park Tower Tokyo

Hotel Information: Relaxation starts at check-in, where guests are seated in front of individual reception desks. A walkway elevated above a lighted fountain area dominates the marble lobby. Glass elevators lead up through the atrium to the 673 guestrooms located on floors three and higher. While frequented by business travelers for its large event facilities, the The Prince Park Tower Tokyo is also popular for its proximity to Tokyo Tower and nearby Roppongi.

Amenity highlights: Shopping, dining, and relaxing are central to the hotel’s amenity offerings, which include a basement-level shopping arcade, bowling alley, and health club. Designed to mirror a traditional street, a row of restaurants offers tempura, sushi, and a wine/sake-tasting bar where diners can sample up to three complimentary drinks. Shopping can be done in upscale boutiques and jewelery stores, such as Cartier, or guests can simply take in live jazz at a bar set in the shadow of Tokyo Tower.

Insider tip: Though perhaps known as the Eiffel Tower of Tokyo, the neighboring Tokyo Tower is much more than an observation or TV tower, which was its original purpose. A wax museum and modest aquarium also give it a theme-park appeal and make it a bit more interesting for the kids.

Rooms

The Prince Park Tower Tokyo's 673 guestrooms offer city, Tokyo Tower, or Rainbow Bridge views from floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors opening out to private balconies. Windows are draped with special fabrics designed to absorb odors and release a light deodorant as sunlight filters through. Beds are topped with down comforters, and guests can choose from a selection of pillows (surcharges) before turning in. Marble bathrooms are outfitted with jetted tubs and separate, glass-enclosed showers, plus ionic hair dryers, which help prevent the frizzy hair brought on by Tokyo’s humid summers. Sofa beds and 32-inch flat-screen, LCD TVs are found in the sitting-area corners, which also feature complimentary high-speed Internet access. CD and DVD players, as well as fax machines, are available upon request.

Wedding needs are taken care of with three chapels—an open-air nature chapel, a garden chapel, and one offering city views from the 33rd floor—plus the basement-level’s photo studio, esthetician, nail salon, and costume/wedding salon. The lobby level includes upscale shops, such as Cartier, in addition to a drug store and a French-style bakery.

Among the 14 available options, guests will be hard pressed to find a restaurant/bar that doesn’t suit their fancy. The hotel also offers complimentary shuttle transportation to/from JR Hamamatsucho Station and is within walking distance (500 meters/yards) of Onarimon subway station. Trains and subways are the most efficient and economical modes of transportation and are relatively easy to navigate, but get very busy during peak times (mornings and early evenings). The city’s 13 lines are all color-coded and include bilingual signs and maps. Cars operate from around 5 AM to midnight; fares start at JPY160. The bus system is not as easily navigable, particularly for travelers who cannot decipher the Japanese signage. All fees subject to change without notice.
