Hotel Information: The Keio Plaza Hotel is located in West Shinjuku. Compared to the more boisterous East Shinjuku, West Shinjuku is home to the offices of numerous stalwarts of the Japanese business world. The classic elegance of the hotel’s lobby and interior attract business travellers during the week, whereas its proximity to Shinjuku Station and location in central Tokyo brings in weekend leisure travellers.
Amenity highlights: The Keio Plaza Hotel offers an array of dining options, including several distinct branches of Japanese, French, Italian, Chinese, and Korean cuisine. The hotel’s various lounges offer sweeping views of the city and live piano performances. Guests enjoy complimentary access to the hotel’s fitness room and seasonal outdoor pool. The hotel also houses a business centre with cell phone rentals, Internet access, translation, and courier services.
Insider tip: Located on block west of the Keio Plaza Hotel are the dual towers of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building. Each tower contains an observation deck on its 45th floor, access to which is free of charge. Compared to Tokyo Tower, the Metropolitan Government Building is popular with Tokyoites for its relatively smaller crowds, more relaxed atmosphere, and unmarred views of Mt. Fuji at sunset.
