Spa

Located on the far north point of the island in a traditional Polynesian Fare, the Manea Spa focuses on traditional Tahitian treatments. There are twin massage tables and a Zen-style garden in front of the Fare. Click the links below for more details.

The philosophy of Manea Spa incorporates the traditional art of Polynesian massage, Taurumi, of ancient practices and local island ingredients, including sandalwood, tiare, ylang-ylang, and monoi.

Monoi Rai Fenua: Scalp Massage and Reflexology (50 minutes): CFP7,000 single; CFP20,500 couple (AU$100−$300)
This treatment begins with a ritual footbath and is complemented with reflexology massage of zones of the scalp and feet. Available for individuals or couples, for 30-minute sessions and 50-minute sessions.

Monoi Maha Rima: Massage (30 minutes): CFP11,000−21,000 (AU$150−$300)
Two masseuses work in synchronization, with monoi Oil, to awaken personal rhythm and harmonious equilibrium. This treatment is available for 30-minute sessions and 50-minute sessions.

One Manea: Exfoliate (80 minutes): CFP11,000−27,000 (AU$150−$400)
This treatment begins with a gentle sand scrub, and is followed by a shower before a full body massage with natural monoi. This is available for individuals or couples, for 50-minute sessions and 80-minute sessions.

Hohoa Tane: Facial (50 minutes): CFP11,500−CFP19,500 (AU$150−$300)
A sandalwood-based facial to clean and restore the facial skin combined with a neck, scalp, and face massage for well being and relaxation. This is available for individuals or couples, for 50-minute sessions.

Rauru One: Hair treatment (50 minutes): CFP11,000−19,000 (AU$150−$300)
The scalp is treated with coconut milk, leaving the hair soft and silken. This is available for individuals or couples, for 50-minute sessions.

Rooms

The 37 bungalows of the Tikehau Pearl Beach Resort are designed in Polynesian-style with bamboo and timber decor. All bungalows feature sundecks with lagoon views, and can be accessed via exterior corridors. Amenities include minibars and coffee/tea makers. Also included are cable TVs and desks with direct-dial phones and voice mail. Bathrooms have showers, bathrobes, complimentary toiletries, hair dryers, makeup mirrors, and slippers. Welcome amenities include fruit basket and flowers. Some bungalows have glass-bottomed tables for viewing marine activity.

Recreation

The Tikehau motus are known for pink sand, and guests are able to explore the pink sand islets. The on-site dive centre can arrange visits to many renowned dive sites suited to all levels of diving. Water activities are also available for guests including snorkeling and boating. Deep-sea fishing and lagoon fishing can be arranged. Other activities include picnics, visits to neighbouring islets, hiring of bicycles, and cruises.

Isle of Birds provides guests with a bird-watching excursion to see rare and endangered birds.

Property Amenities

Spread over four hectares, Tikehau Pearl Beach Resort provides guests with Polynesian-style bungalow guestrooms both on beach and over water. A freshwater swimming pool and full-service spa facilities are also on site. Guests may dine at the restaurant, or choose from a selection of drinks at the bar. Polynesian-style weddings may be celebrated at this resort. The resort offers many land and water activities on site, and on the surrounding motus and islets. The on-site dive center provides equipment, along with training and certification, and beginner and experienced dive site tours.

The resort’s meeting room is suited for up to 25 and provides secretarial services such as faxing and photocopying (surcharges). Audiovisual equipment, TV, and CD player are also available (surcharges apply). Complimentary Internet access is provided in the lobby. Banquet catering can be organized for a surcharge.

Location Details

Tuherahera Aiport: Approximate travel time is 20 minutes and distance is 3 km.

Getting there: Guests take a 55-minute flight from Papeete Airport in Tahiti to the airport at Tuherahera. A bus transports guests to Tuherahera village where they are met by water shuttle and taken to the resort. Click the links below for instructions/details.

By boat shuttle (click here)

Travel time from the airport to the hotel: 15 minutes

Schedules and directions (subject to change without notice): The resort provides a boat shuttle service and meets guests at the jetty in Tuherahera. Guests must contact the hotel 48 hours prior to arrival in order to give the staff an estimated time of arrival. Hotel contact information will be included in the reservation confirmation for bookings via this Web site.

Dining

Poreho Restaurant - An open-walled Polynesian-style dining room with thatched roof and views of the lagoon. Serves fresh local produce, including seafood, fruits, and vegetables. Open for breakfast, lunch, afternoon snacks, and dinner. Seats 80. Tianoa Bar - Located between the white sand beach, the lagoon and the swimming pool. Serves a variety of cocktails and other beverages.
