The streets of Sofia resonate with the dramatic defeats and triumphant victories that moulded its turbulent history. Venture inside the Alexander Nevsky Memorial Cathedral and stop at the St. George Rotunda, before visiting the city's namesake, the 6th-century basilica, St. Sofia.
The first stop on this guided walk is the Alexander Nevsky Memorial Cathedral. Stroll around its impressive interior and discover exquisite murals, statues, and colourful mosaics. Continue onto the St. George Rotunda, a fine testament to Roman architecture dating back to the 4th century. Next stop is the 6th-century Christian basilica of St. Sofia which gave the city its name.
