Cruise through the spectacular scenery of Milford Sound in the very heart of Fiordland National Park—one of the largest national parks in the world—and explore the fascinating world of its underwater observatory.

Part of the Te Wahipounamu World Heritage site, Milford Sound is actually a fjord, running 9.3 miles (15 km) inland from the Tasman Sea and surrounded by sheer cliffs rising as high as 4,000 feet (1,200 m). Lush rainforests cling precariously to these cliffs, and penguins, seals, and dolphins swim the waters. Listen to the captain's colorful commentary about the region while cruising through this untamed landscape, which is accessible only by boat, air, or tramping (as hiking is called in New Zealand).

Later, descend 34 feet (10.4 m) to the Milford Deep Underwater Observatory to marvel at stunning sea creatures in their natural habitat. See anemones, sponges, a colorful array of fish, and rare red and black coral.
