The Montmartre Walk

Photo provided by City Walks of Paris

Wind along Montmartre's cobbled streets and discover a haven for artists, visitors, and—in its time—revolutionaries. Soak up a combination of village atmosphere, bohemian quirkiness, and quaint architecture on this walking tour.

Set on Paris' highest hill, Montmartre is topped by the inimitable Sacré-Coeur. Take in the basilica's roman-byzantine architecture and enjoy panoramic views over the city. Pick out the Eiffel Tower and Pompidou Centre before strolling to Place de Tertre, where caricaturists and artists ply their wares. Visit the last vestiges of Montmartre's village past, the vineyards and the famous iconic windmills, and see some of the haunts of famous artists, like the Lapin Agile and the Bateaux Lavoir. Amble along charming lanes before drifting down to the busy boulevards around the Moulin Rouge.
