Escape the bustle of the city for a refreshing hike through lush, protected park land where mountain crests, vast bays dotted with islands, secluded beaches, and verdant landscape surround you with unforgettable vistas.

Spend all day savoring the quiet and sea-salt air as you walk along secluded beaches inaccessible by road and nearly always deserted. Begin the hike at the entrance of 11,062-acre (4,477-hectare) Sai Kung Country Park. Follow the northern shore of the enormous High Island Reservoir—the largest freshwater reservoir in Hong Kong—with its extensive views over the islands and mountains of the eastern New Territories. Crossing a ridge to follow part of the 62-mile (100-km) MacLehose Trail, skirt the coast of stunning Tai Long Wan Bay and its isolated beach. Be sure to take a moment to gaze at the incredible views of rugged hills and ridges backing the clear blue waters of the bay, before trekking across two peninsulas to finish your walk at Pak Tam Au. .
