Autumn is a special time in Old Cape Cod: the summer's warmth still lingers while the New England foliage bursts forth with warm hues of red, yellow, and orange. Spend the day visiting historic landmarks and memorials, take a sightseeing cruise, and enjoy the wonderful colors of this charming town.

On the drive south from Boston, pass through Quincy, birthplace of two American presidents (John Adams and John Quincy Adams), and see the Adams Mansion. Continuing to the Cape, you will stop at the Dexter Grist Mill & Hoxie House in Sandwich; you'll be on your own here for lunch at a scenic harborside restaurant. Then it's on to Hyannisport, home to a memorial in honor of John F. Kennedy. The afternoon is reserved for a narrated sightseeing cruise—the best way to view the Kennedy Compound. Then it's back to Boston; the journey north offers views of the Cape's famous cranberry bogs.
