Take a guided tour of 'behind the scenes' Berlin and explore the sites and buildings associated with espionage and conspiracy from the 1930's, to the collapse of communism in the late 1980's.

Tracing the footsteps of British spy Frank Foley, this tour first takes you to the Tiergarten Park. Now a peaceful green space in central Berlin, this is where Foley secretly assisted over 10,000 Jews to escape Nazi Germany in the 1930's. Continue to the courtyard of the Wehrmacht HQ where attempts to overthrow Hitler went disastrously wrong. Explore the grand ‘Stalin Allee’, built as the showcase housing project of East Berlin in the 1950's and visit the point on the Bernauer Strasse where Berliners attempted to escape through tunnels under the Wall.

The tour finishes at the Stasi HQ - a huge complex now devoted to preserving the history of the Stasi and the GDR.

Commentary is in English only. You will need to purchase a day pass (6.10 EUR) for the public transport system in order to participate in this tour. These can be bought from the service provider. Tours operate in all weathers. Children younger than 12 participate for free.
