Nenana Half-Day Rafting Trip
Take on 23 miles of class II to IV whitewater rapids along the spectacular Nenana River Gorge with a professional guide. The Oar Raft tour lets you hold on as a professional guide navigates the class III and IV rapids, while the Paddle Raft tour invites you to paddle along with the guide!
Oar Raft Tour:
No experience required—just a sense of fun and adventure! Your journey begins at McKinley Village and ends, 23 miles later (37 km), in the town of Healy. A professional guide will take you through class II to IV rapids while you enjoy views of the spectacular Nenana River Gorge. Watch for Dall sheep and other animals along the high cliffs of the canyon.
Paddle Raft Tour:
Be a part of the excitement! Help a professional guide navigate 23 miles of class II to IV rapids. Enjoy views of the spectacular Nenana River Gorge during the easier stretches of the river. Your guide will call out commands and share local knowledge along the way.

8 AM and noon, from Denali Outdoor Center office, located on the Parks Highway at mile marker 238.5; transfers are available from select local hotels

Approx. 1 PM and 5:30 PM, to the Denali Outdoor Center office; transfers are available to select local hotels
Travel time:
- Anchorage to Denali National Park: Approx. 4 hours
- Fairbanks to Denali National Park: Approx. 2 hours
Note:
Advance reservations are required. You must call Denali Outdoor Center prior to your arrival. You will not be guaranteed a place on this tour if you don’t call ahead. Participants must be at least 10 years old for the Oar Raft tour. Participants must be at least 14 years old for the Paddle Raft tour. You will need to dress in long-sleeved layers and a warm pair of socks under the suit; on colder days, an extra layer is recommended.

Redemption Details
1. Print your voucher; locate the voucher in your travel confirmation e-mail or in the My Trips/My Itineraries link on the site.
2. Follow the redemption instructions on your voucher; it is critical to do this before you depart.
3. Take all vouchers with you; you must redeem one voucher per person.
Exchange your voucher for activity:
Advance reservations are required. You must call Denali Outdoor Center at least 72 hours in advance of your arrival. You will not be guaranteed a place on this tour if you don’t call ahead. The reservation phone number will be listed on your printed voucher(s). Pick-up is available from select hotels. You may schedule your pick-up when you make your reservation; please have your hotel information available when calling. You may also choose to meet the tour at the Denali Outdoor Center office; the address will be listed on your printed voucher(s). Present your voucher(s) and photo identification upon pick-up at your hotel or upon arrival at the Denali Outdoor Center office.
