Rooms

The hotel has 100 rooms on two floors. Rooms have views of a grassy courtyard. Standard rooms include balconies. Fireplace rooms include kivas, adobe wood-burning fireplaces. Rooms are decorated in a southwestern theme with hand-hewn rafters. Dark furniture contrasts with brightly colored bedspreads, drapes, and accents. Rooms include dial-up Internet access (surcharge). Some have refrigerators. Room access is through outside corridors. There are no elevators.

Recreation

The hotel offers an outdoor pool and two indoor spa tubs. Guests can purchase all-day passes to the Taos Spa and Tennis Club, located across the street from the hotel, for $12. Taos Country Club and Golf Course is two miles from the hotel. Other area recreational activities include fishing, hiking, biking, horseback riding, rock climbing, hot air ballooning, and river rafting. Angel Fire Ski Area is 28 miles from the hotel. Taos Ski Valley is 30 miles from the hotel. The Chile Line, a local shuttle service, stops in front of the hotel and will take guests around Taos for a $1 fare.

Sagebrush Inn & Conference in downtown Taos is across the street from the Taos Spa and Tennis Club. The historic hotel’s original structure, which is now the cantina and lobby, was built in 1929. In the 1930s, the hotel was popular with vacationing easterners as well as painter Georgia O’Keefe, whose painting studio is now Room 301. The hotel houses an extensive collection of Indian artifacts, rugs, art, sculpture, and pottery. The hotel also offers 18,000 square feet of meeting space. Sagebrush Dining Room - The breakfast only restaurant provides a complimentary full breakfast with a choice of five menu items. The restaurant also serves from a regular breakfast menu (surcharge).

Los Vaqueros - The restaurant serves prime rib, grilled chicken, southwestern specialties, New Mexican entrees, and offers a salad bar. The restaurant features exposed wooden beams, massive adobe fireplaces, local art, flagstone patios, and views of the mountains and the mesa. The restaurant serves dinner only.
