The hotel’s circular lobby is dominated by a large central pillar housing six elevators. Business travelers come and go, taking advantage of the large off-street entry driveway and lobby lounge facilities. Chinese artifacts from the Song dynasty add a historical Asian touch, and are joined by an abundance of plants and flowers.

Built in the 1960s, the Imperial is one of Taipei’s oldest and most established hotels. International business travelers provide the bulk of the Imperial’s clientele, mingling around the lobby and its connecting bars and restaurants. The lobby opens up to a 13-story atrium with a curving feature staircase, and nightly musical performances that echo up and around the lobby’s 13 floors.
