Renovation Notice
A soft refurbishment program will take place during 2007. This will involve painting and replacement of soft furnishings in guestrooms. Minimal disruption is expected.
Recreation
A 10-metre, outdoor, unheated rooftop pool with spa tub is available to guests. The surrounding terrace is scattered with sun lounges.
One block from the Metro Hotel Sydney Central is a gym with a wide range of fitness equipment. Approximately 700 metres away is Darling Harbour, where guests may take in scenic water and city views while walking or jogging. The Entertainment Centre is less than 0.5 km away, and the stately Capitol Theatre, home to a wide range of musical and theatrical productions, is opposite the hotel. Instructions: The hotel is located on the corner of Pitt and Campbell streets in Haymarket, opposite the Capitol Theatre.

Driving directions from Sydney Airport (SYD): Exit the airport and proceed to General Holmes Drive and then Southern Cross Drive. Continue on the latter for approximately 6 km and then take the Eastern Distributor Motorway for 2.7 km. Take the Cross City Tunnel exit at Surry Hills/Kings Cross - a toll of AUD4.50 is due here. Exit left onto William Street, which becomes Park Street after approximately 600 metres. After approximately another 250 metres, turn left into Elizabeth Street and then turn right at Goulburn Street, which is the third cross street. Turn left into Pitt Street, which is the second street on the left. The hotel is located on the right at the next set of traffic lights (corner of Campbell Street). Schedules and directions (subject to change without notice): Shuttle bus services depart the airport for the central business district at regular intervals. Ask at the airport information counter for the departure point for the shuttle service that stops at/near the Metro Hotel Sydney Central. Please be sure to stipulate the “Metro Hotel on the corner of Pitt and Campbell streets”, as there are several Metro properties located in Sydney. Guests may book a return shuttle transfer with reception staff at the hotel; please try to allow at least 1–2 days notice, if possible.
