Recreation
Located on level two of the Quay Grand Suites are the gym, a 15-metre indoor (heated) pool, sauna, and spa tub. Floor-to-ceiling glass provides views towards Circular Quay and opens out to a terrace. The gym is divided into two areas: one section with machines such as exercise bikes, treadmills, and a rower; and another area with weights, full length mirrors, and a fit ball. This area is open from early morning until late daily, and accessed via a lift on level four (using a guest-suite security swipe card).
Opposite and approximately 100 metres from the hotel are the Royal Botanic Gardens which has numerous walking and jogging tracks including the popular foreshore path from the Opera House to Mrs Macquaries Chair offering impressive harbour views. Guests seeking a swim will find the harbourside Andrew Boy Charlton Pool via the Botanic Gardens and Domain, approximately 1.5 km from the hotel, and the Cook & Phillip (aquatic, fitness and recreation) park a similar distance south-east of the Quay Grand.

Driving directions from Kingsford Smith Airport (SYD): On leaving the airport, head for General Holmes Drive and then Southern Cross Drive. After approximately 6 km, this becomes Dowling Street (at Kensington). Take the Eastern Distributor Motorway (an underground tunnel) for approximately 4.2 km. The road then becomes the Cahill Expressway immediately after passing through the toll booths (where AU$4.50 in cash is due). Immediately bear left and take the Macquarie Street exit. Turn right into Macquarie Street and take the left lane. Continue down Macquarie Street for approximately 0.5 km, passing the Royal Botanic Gardens on the right and then crossing over Bridge Street (on the left at traffic lights, with the Conservatorium of Music on the right). Look for 61 Macquarie Street on the left. There is a pull-in bay for cars at the front of Quay Grand, where concierge staff will provide assistance.
