Recreation

The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool (heated in winter) with a sundeck. It is suitable for lap swimmers and for general swimming. The hotel can provide guests with a complimentary walking/jogging map of Glebe and surrounding areas. Among the local areas good for jogging and walking are Bicentennial Park and Blackwattle Bay Park (both at the end of Glebe Point Road, about 1.5 km from the hotel). These parks also have large children’s playgrounds; Bicentennial Park has a skate ramp. The University of Sydney (500 metres) has a wide range of recreational amenities. Glebe and nearby Newtown have a number of fitness centres and aerobics, Pilates, and yoga studios.

Large windows overlook Glebe Point Road from The Haven Inn’s reception/lounge area, which is decorated with Australiana-style artwork and fresh flowers. A wooden staircase leads from here to the 56 guestrooms.

The hotel has a DVD library with a dedicated children’s section; the first DVD is complimentary (surcharges apply for additional DVDs.)

Train schedules and directions (subject to change without notice): Trains depart the airport approximately every 15 minutes. The domestic rail station is located directly between T2 and T3 Terminals and is accessible via the arrivals level. The international rail station is located at the northern end of the terminal and is accessible from the arrivals level. Taxis are available at Central Station for the 1 km trip to the hotel (or guests can walk up Broadway and right into Glebe Point Road).

Driving directions from Kingsford Smith International Airport (SYD): From Kingsford Smith Airport, turn right into Airport Drive, then right into Wentworth Avenue. Follow the ‘City’ signs and turn left into Cleveland Street, right into City Road, immediately left into Broadway, and immediately right into Glebe Point Road.
