Apartment Hotel Sydney displays minimalist styling with strong colour contrasts (whites, reds, blacks, and greys), leather, chrome, contemporary artworks, and modular lounges. Kitchen appliances are concealed behind integrated cupboards and include full refrigerators and freezers, dishwashers, microwaves, ovens, and electric cooktops. Cooking and eating utensils, dishwashing requirements, coffee and tea makings including milk are provided. Bedding comprises cotton sheets and doonas, and all towels are supplied. Completed in 2004, The Apartment Hotel’s 34 executive apartments are located within an Engelen Moore-designed residential complex on the eastern fringes of the central business district. A general feel of a “home away from home”, rather than a hotel, pervades as guests reside alongside permanent residents. There is no reception area and check-in is by prior arrangement only. Located on the ground floor are two restaurants, convenience/general store, beauty salon, hairdresser, bottle/liquor shop, and Internet café.

Rollaway beds and cribs (infant beds) may be available and should be requested at the time of booking. A surcharge applies to rollaways. Cots and high chairs are free of charge.

Instructions: A taxi queue is located at the airport arrivals area. Driver should travel to 150 Liverpool Street near Whitlam Square, with access via a left turn from College Street into Liverpool Street.

Driving directions from Kingsford Smith Airport (SYD): On leaving the airport, head for General Holmes Drive and then Southern Cross Drive. After approximately 6 km, this becomes Dowling Street (at Kensington). Take the Eastern Distributor Motorway (an underground tunnel) and after approximately 2.5 km, take the Kings Cross/Surry Hills exit onto William Street (a toll payable in AU$4.50 will be due here in cash). Turn left into William Street and travel approximately 500 metres, when William Street meets College Street. Turn left here (the Australian Museum will be on the left and Hyde Park south will be on the right). Travel to the second set of lights (just past Marriott Hotel on the left) and take a sharp left, watching for pedestrian traffic crossing. The Burdekin Hotel will be on the right and the Apartment Hotel is almost immediately on the left.

Schedules and directions (subject to change without notice): Limousine transfers must be pre-arranged. Please ask for more information at the time of booking or book return limousine transfers directly with the Apartment Hotel manager.

Know Before You Go

As the Apartment Hotel has no reception or on-site manager, it is essential that check-in is organised by prior arrangement with the (off-site) manager. If arriving by plane into Sydney, it will be necessary to supply flight details at the time of booking. If arriving by car, train, or bus into Sydney, please make similar arrangements at the time of booking. Generally the manager will ask to be contacted by phone on approach into Sydney. Please discuss these arrangements in more detail at the time of booking.

Fees

• Rollaway beds are AU$50/adults and AU$30 children per night. Please note that adult rates reduce to AU$30 per night after 5 nights.
• Babysitting fee is AU$18 per hour (minimum 4 hours). This list is not comprehensive. Fees are subject to change.
