First Hotel Amaranten

Hotel Information: The entrance’s street-level revolving door leads to a wide contemporary lobby area dominated by polished granite and walnut, offset by Persian rugs and red vinyl pouffes. A lounge area features striped sofas, an Internet terminal and a flatscreen TV showing news or functioning as a virtual aquarium. The modern lobby bar plays host to business lunches and leisure travellers seeking refreshment.

Amenity highlights: Fitness enthusiasts can head to the gym, which comprises cross-trainer, rowing machine, treadmill, free weights and resistance machines. A more relaxing time can be had in the traditional Swedish sauna or on rattan loungers by the indoor pool, which is decorated in the style of a summer garden, complete with white fencing, palm trees and a blue-sky ceiling mural. Massage and beauty therapies are available in the health centre’s treatment room.

Insider tip: The area immediately surrounding the First Hotel Amaranten is mostly residential, but is also home to interior-design shops and fashion boutiques, alongside numerous chic cafes, bars and restaurants. Those interested in cutting-edge design should head to the Västermalmsgallerian mall, 600 metres from the hotel.
