The Frenchman's Reef section includes three buildings set into and atop a cliff overlooking the Caribbean Sea. An eight-story tower atop the cliff offers views of the open sea and Charlotte Amalie harbor. A six-story tower built into the cliff faces the open sea. And a three-story wing atop the cliff overlooks the harbor. The Morning Star section includes five two- and three-story beachfront buildings (exterior corridors, no elevators) with open-sea views.
Guestrooms at this St Thoma resort feature signature bedding: Thick mattresses, separate pillowtops, down comforters with white covers, triple sheeting with 300-thread-count sheets, extra pillows, and decorative throws. A 82.25-m (270-ft) irregularly shaped pool with a rock waterfall at one end and a swimup bar wraps around the cliff below the main building in the Frenchman's Reef section. Pool and adjacent eight-person spa tub provide sea and sunset views. Terraced below a bougainvillea-bright hillside and above a 600-m (656-yd) beach in the Morning Star section are a 36.5-m-long (120-ft) Romanesque pool and two 10-person spa tubs. Both pool complexes include sundecks furnished with padded lounge chairs.
Kayaks, small sailboats, windsurfers, personal watercraft, and snorkeling gear are available for rent on the beach. Parasailing and scuba diving are available for surcharges. Outboard motor boats can be rented adjacent to the resort's dock. During winter season, poolside tai chi, yoga, and aerobics classes (surcharges) are offered. This Marriott resort includes two lighted tennis courts (surcharges).
