Insider tip: A 10-minute drive from the resort, The Butterfly Farm features hundreds of free-flying butterflies within a large meshed enclosure. Visitors can also view all stages of the life cycle. Early mornings are the best chance to see newborn butterflies emerge for their inaugural flights.
Rooms
All guestrooms at The Westin St. Maarten, Dawn Beach Resort & Spa include Heavenly Beds and Heavenly Baths. The Heavenly Bed consists of a custom-designed, foot-thick pillowtop mattress with all-white bedding; triple sheeting; down duvet; and five pillows (two goose down/feather, two hypo-allergenic, and a decorative “boudoir” neck roll pillow). The Heavenly Bath consists of a dual showerhead with multiple spray options; curved shower rod for extra room; white-on-white shower curtain; velour, waffle-weave bathrobes; oversized Brazilian combed-cotton bath towels; and citrus-scented Molton Brown English toiletries. Also available is The Heavenly Crib, which includes a pillowtop mattress, baby blankets, a fitted sheet, and a white cloud rug beneath the crib. Rooms have furnished balconies or patios, and stocked minibars. Other amenities include high-speed Internet access (surcharge), multi-line cordless phones, and TVs with U.S. stations. A complimentary newspaper is delivered every day except Sunday, and turndown service is available upon request. In-room massage services can be arranged (surcharged).
