Qupqugiaq Inn guestrooms each have a different theme inspired by a third-world country. The theme is threaded through the decor, with batiks, carvings, and prints; guests can learn more about their guestrooms’ themes at the included “educational shrines,” which include a selection of books about the country being represented.

Custom-made teak bedframes are decorated with celestial-themed carvings. TVs come with premium cable channels, and both local calls and high-speed Internet access are complimentary.

The Qupqugiaq Inn is located in Anchorage's midtown area, two blocks from shops and restaurants and two miles from downtown Anchorage.

Guests will be aware of the hotel's philosophy as soon as they set eyes on the property's exterior. Waves of driftwood cling to the building's frame, and reclaimed wood covers the rest.

The hotel further bolsters community and a more natural way of being by eschewing a traditional restaurant in favor of an open kitchen, where guests can prepare food together. An adjacent dining nook is framed by asymmetrical, curving walls. Guests can also enjoy Turkish cuisine at the adjacent Istanbul Café.
