Banyan Tree SpaÂ’s massage therapies represent European and Asian massage techniques and use aromatic oils as part of treatments. Signature treatments include traditional and unique massage, skin scrubs, and skin and hair moisturizing therapies. Special package treatments of two or more therapies are also available.

Royal Banyan (3 hours): IDR1,678,575 (US$185+)
This signature therapy draws on centuries-old massage traditions used in the Royal Thai Palaces and begins with an oil-free Thai acupressure massage to improve blood circulation and alleviate muscle tension. Banyan Herbal Pouches, filled with lemongrass, cloves and coriander, are then used to apply warm sesame oil to the body while receiving a Banyan massage, a Western influenced technique. The treatment also includes a foot bath and refreshments.

A creamy blend of honey and banana, applied as a body mask. Refines skin and provides deep moisture and nourishment.

A gentle massage for sensitive skin, using soothing oil for its healing and calming properties. Uses thumb pressure and long palm strokes, for tension release and to aid absorption of the oil for skin repair.

Designed to relieve back muscle tensions, the treatment begins with a mild scrub followed by a deep massage using a menthol-based lotion to stimulate tired and sore muscles. The back is then nourished with warm paraffin, enriched with Vitamin E for tension relief and optimal moisture absorption. The treatment also includes a foot bath and refreshments.

This Banyan body treatment combines steam and rain shower. Beginning with a hot stone massage and comforting rain shower, this therapeutic session induces a tranquil mental state as the tension is massaged away. Included in this session is a Romance Salt Scrub to slough away dead skin cells, leaving the skin soft and silky smooth. Natural sea salt and essential oils are combined to provide a stimulating body rub. The salt gently polishes and heals the skin which is softened and nourished by the oils.

Nails are cleaned, trimmed, and shaped while the hands are scrubbed and conditioned. A relaxing hand massage completes the treatment. Includes hand soak and scrub, nail maintenance, Kaffir Lime hand mask, and hand massage.

Crushed Kemiri nuts, the traditional-style body soap of Indonesia, is combined with coconut milk and rice treatment that exfoliates, cleanses and deeply moisturizes the skin. Suitable for dry or mature skin.

The Banyan Tree Bintan resort offers 67 villa-style accommodations on the ground level. All have private open-air jet pool on wooden decks. Other amenities include climate control air conditioning. Banyan Tree Bintan has two swimming pools. 18-hole Laguna Bintan Golf Course, tennis court, and beachside walks are also on site. Yoga classes may be organized through concierge assistance. The beach is suited best to water sports such as surfing, during the months from November to March.

Location Details

Changi International Airport (SIN): Approximate travel time is 90 minutes and distance is 70 km (40 miles).

Getting there: Guests travel from the ferry at Tanah Merah in Singapore to the Island of Bintan, to the northern Bintan Resorts. The hotel resort may arrange limousine or airport transfer from the ferry dock to the Resort.

Schedules and directions (subject to change without notice): Ferries travel from Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal to the resort island thrice daily. Guests are advised to be at the ferry terminal at least one hour before time of departure. From Changi International Airport, take a taxi to Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal. Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal can be reached from the East Coast Expressway. Exit 3A, take Xilin Avenue direction south. Follow the road along the Tanah Merah Country Club, turn right at first traffic light, then right again at next traffic light. Banyan Tree Resort Bintan can arrange for hotel transportation from the ferry dock.

Note - Guests must contact the hotel 72 hours prior to arrival in order to give the staff their ferry schedule. Hotel contact information will be included in the reservation confirmation for bookings via this Web site.

Dinner of the Legend - A themed dinner for two involving story-telling of the Indonesian folk tale, the Legend of the Violet Rainbow Goddess, and an Indonesian rice buffet with appetizer dishes. Held at the marine center, at the beach. Available daily from early evening, weather permitting. Reservations are required 24 hours prior to dinner. Beverages not included, and must be pre-ordered four hours prior to dinner.

Massage of the Senses - Combining touch and taste, a body massage precedes dinner in an exclusive cabana on the beach. Slow-flamed (slow-cooked) Asian accentuated menu, with such dishes as Tamarind-Marinated Carpaccio of Veal. Available daily from early evening, weather permitting.
