Hotel Information: Favoring international business travelers taking advantage of its conference facilities and Pudong location, the St Regis Shanghai is located in a modern tower block. The three-story atrium lobby has a patterned marble floor and dark purple marble columns, and is hung with an elaborate alabaster light fixture. In the evening, live jazz music is hosted in the Mezzanine Lounge above. A small pond and stands of bamboo provide a touch of zen. Reception is on the left, backed by a wall of purple drapes and large abstract artworks in shades of gold—tones which set the scene for the rest of the hotel.
Insider tip: While renowned as Shanghai’s contemporary financial and business zone, the Pudong district also has its fair share of visitor attractions, often overlooked by overseas tourists. These include the Shanghai Oriental Art Center, and Shanghai Science and Technology Museum. The Shanghai Municipal History Museum traces the fascinating rise, fall, and rebirth of the city over the last two hundred years. All lie within 4 km (2.5 miles) of the St Regis Hotel Shanghai.

Location Details
Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG): Approximate travel time is 40 minutes and distance is 35 km (21 miles).
Hongqiao Domestic Airport (SHA): Approximate travel time is 40 minutes and distance is 20 km (12 miles).
Getting there: Taxi is the most convenient way to get from both airports. The hotel also offers airport pickup. An airport shuttle bus service operates a route from Pudong International Airport to the hotel. It is also possible to take the high-speed MAGLEV (magnetic levitation train), and change to a regular metro train. From Hongqiao Airport, a CAAC shuttle bus and several public buses run into the city center, from which it is possible to transfer to the metro. Rental cars are not recommended for travelers unfamiliar with this area. Click the links below for instructions/details.
Getting around: Public transport or taxi is both cheap and convenient. Metered taxis are abundant and cheap, with flagfall costing CNY10 (US$1–$5) for the first three km, and CNY2 (US$0.25) for subsequent km. Rates vary slightly between taxi companies and rise by 30 percent late at night. Metros operate from around 6 AM to 10 AM. The nearest metro station to the St Regis Shanghai is Dongfang Road on the intersection of lines 2 and 4, just around the corner from the hotel. Fares are CNY2–4 (less than US$1) per trip, but a rechargeable Jiaotong Card is more convenient for frequent users, and costs CNY30 (US$1–$5). Buses charge a flat fare of CNY1–2 (less than US$1), but are difficult to navigate without a knowledge of Chinese.
