These days, its green slopes are a vast public park containing a few remnants of city wall that recall the Great Wall of China. The summit of Namsan is accessible by cable car.

Getting there: KAL Limousine Buses and taxis provide the most convenient way of reaching Vabien Suites II Serviced Residence. The property also provides an airport pick up service. Rental cars are not recommended for travellers unfamiliar with this area. Click the links below for instructions/details.
Getting around: Vabien Suites II Serviced Residence has a complimentary shuttle service around the downtown area and shopping malls, which departs daily at 8 AM, 8:30 AM, and 10:10 AM; and more frequently on weekends. Seoul has an excellent subway system that provides the fastest way to get around the city, although it can be very crowded during rush hours. The eight lines are colour-coded and display maps, as well as train announcements, are in English and Korean. Trains operate every few minutes, with tickets costing KRW600 (US$0.60) inside Service Area One and KRW700 (US$0.75) inside Service Area Two. The nearest stop to Vabien Suites II Serviced Residence is Seodaemun Station on Line 5 (purple). There is also a bus system that runs from early morning until midnight, but this is more difficult to navigate for those unfamiliar with the city. Taxis are KRW 1900 (US$2) for the first 2 kms and KRW 100 (US$0.10) for each 144 metres thereafter, but attract a 20% surcharge after midnight. Deluxe taxis (with black and yellow signs) cost more, but accept credit cards and offer receipts. Some of the taxis of both types have a Free Interpretation sign on the door, and provide a phone interpretation service in English and Japanese.
