Hotel Information: The mostly American business guests enter the hotel via a triple-storey atrium with floor-to-ceiling windows and marble floors. Pale wood panelling and fittings in wood and brass complement the opulent antique style, which is offset by multicoloured, contemporary paintings and sculptures, as well as occasional Korean antiques. A vast staircase with a cascading water feature leads to restaurants and bars.
Insider tip: Only a few kilometres from the JW Marriott Hotel is the Seoul Centre of Education and Culture, which makes for an interesting visit. It contains an art exhibition space, cultural centre, sports centre, and sculpture park, and is set in expansive natural surrounds. Its main theatre hosts plays, dance, movies, and opera. The Centre also hosts a large, drive-in movie theatre that shows the latest cinema releases.
