The entrance faces Main Street, lined with stores, galleries, restaurants, and tour companies, including popular 4-wheel drive adventures. At the back of the hotel, the outdoor pool and the guestroom balconies or patios offer superlative views.
Amenity highlights: Open year-round, the heated splash pool is surrounded by a large sundeck with lounge chairs, a spa tub, and a dining area with a fire pit. During the day, guests are treated to vistas of brick-red buttes and the green valley. At night, the formations are silhouetted against the starry sky.
Insider tip: Guests can hook ’em and cook ’em at the Rainbow Trout Farm, one mile from the hotel. This family-friendly attraction has two artesian-fed ponds stocked with rainbow trout, and is a great introduction to fishing. Admission covers equipment, bait, and use of barbecues and picnic tables. Cost for the fish depends on its size.

The outdoor splash pool, heated and open year-round, is surrounded by a sundeck with a spa tub, dining area, fire pit, and sweeping Red Rock views. The hotel provides discounted passes to a fitness center about a mile away.
The Sedona area offers about 75 hiking trails for all expertise levels. The Boynton Canyon Trail, 5.5 miles away, explores a gorgeous box canyon with abundant wildlife. At Slide Rock State Park, six miles away, visitors can slide down slippery rocks into Oak Creek. The West Fork Trail, about a mile past the park, is a leafy hike with numerous creek crossings and close-up views of sheer canyon walls. (All vehicles parked in trailhead lots must display a Red Rock Pass, sold at many area stores, hotels, and trailheads.)
Horseback riding, mountain biking, birding, and hot-air ballooning are other popular pursuits. Four-wheel-drive tours visit canyons, Red Rock landscapes, and centuries-old Native American ruins. Golf courses combine top-notch play with spectacular scenery. Courses open to the public include Oakcreek Country Club, designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and Robert Trent Jones Jr., and the Sedona Golf Resort, designed by Gary Panks. Both are about seven miles away.
