Hotel Information: Situated on a hill in the Village of Oak Creek, about six miles from the center of Sedona, Hilton Sedona Resort & Spa is framed by broad mesas and towering Red Rock buttes. A waterfall sculpture of a Hopi woman stands at the entrance. The earth-toned lobby blends Native American and Western elements, including beautifully crafted pottery and baskets, a kiva-style fireplace, and hand-forged iron chandeliers. The spa/health club and pools adjoin the main building.
Insider tip: Although less famous than Montezuma Castle National Monument, Tuzigoot National Monument, 36 miles from the hotel, is well worth a visit—and it's a short side trip from the popular Verde Valley Railroad. A paved, quarter-mile trail circles the ruins of a hilltop pueblo inhabited by Sinaguan people between AD 1000 and AD 1400. Visitors can enter a pueblo room and climb to the rooftop, with commanding views of the mesas and the valley.

The Hilton Sedona Resort has three outdoor pools, all with spa tubs and view sundecks: the freeform, family-friendly Cascades Pool; the small, freeform, adults-only pool at ShadowRock; and a 25-meter lap pool at the spa.
The spa, renovated March 2008, offers three lighted tennis courts, a sand-volleyball court, a gym for yoga and other classes, a fitness room with cardio and weight-training equipment, and nine treatment rooms. Locker rooms contain spa tubs, saunas, and steam rooms. An optional daily resort fee covers use of the spa/health club (extra charge for spa treatments and tennis racquets). If a guest purchases a spa treatment, the fee is waived for that day.
Guests enjoy preferred tee times at the adjoining Sedona Golf Resort, an 18-hole championship course designed by Gary Panks.
The Sedona area offers scores of hiking trails for all levels of expertise. The Bell Rock Pathway, 1.5 miles from the hotel, provides close-up views of Bell Rock (a reputed New Age vortex) and other famous formations. The Red Rock Crossing trailhead, five miles away, leads to one of Arizona’s most photographed spots. At Slide Rock State Park, 15 miles away, visitors can slide down a natural water chute. The West Fork Trail, about 17 miles away, is a leafy hike with numerous creek crossings and spectacular views of sheer canyon walls.
Horseback riding, mountain biking, and hot-air ballooning are other popular pursuits. Jeep tours visit canyons, Red Rock landscapes, and centuries-old Native American ruins.
