Travel Details

Salish Lodge & Spa

Hotel Information: Fresh air, wooded hills, and the sounds of majestic Snoqualmie Falls greet guests arriving at this Craftsman-style lodge. The exterior is so emblematic of the Northwest that it was shown in the opening shots of the 1990–91 TV series Twin Peaks. In the lobby, a copper-topped fireplace, beamed ceiling, slate floors, leather chairs, and baskets of pinecones create a rustically elegant effect.

Amenity highlights: Recipient of numerous national awards, the Asian-inspired Spa at Salish Lodge is a soothing refuge with hand-crafted shoji doors and aromatic cedar ceiling. Two small soaking pools are linked by a waterfall; large windows face the treetops. Spa treatments incorporate essential oils and botanicals. The hotel's main restaurant showcases Pacific Northwest cuisine accompanied by views of the river canyon.

Insider tip: Early-rising guests are often treated to the sight of rainbows shimmering in the mist rising from the falls. The best viewpoint is the Snoqualmie Falls Park observation deck, a three-minute walk from the lodge. Plummeting 270 feet, the falls are about 100 feet higher than Niagara.

Rooms

The four-story Salish Lodge & Spa has 91 guestrooms, all with wood-burning, slate-framed fireplaces and 11-foot ceilings. Beds include seven-choice pillow menus, featherbeds, down duvets, and 320-thread-count sheets. Every room has a window seat or a small, unfurnished patio or balcony.

Bathrooms feature custom-designed two-person jetted tubs with multiple settings and waterfall faucets. Lights bathe the tubs in a choice of colors to suit the mood. Windows by the tubs face the fireplace (blinds can be lowered for privacy). A changing selection of soaps includes sage, walnut spice, and elderflower varieties. Shampoos and other toiletries are from the spa’s collection. A countertop “honor bar” contains bath salts, bubble baths, and candles for purchase.

Wireless Internet access is included in the resort fee. All rooms are non-smoking.
