Insider tip: The Howard Bros. Circus is a star attraction of the Circus Museum, located at the Ringling Museum of Art. The circus is a scale replica of the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus c. 1925–1938, and has eight tents, 152 wagons, 1,300 circus performers and workers, 800 animals, and a 55-car train. The museum is six miles from the resort.

Lido Beach Resort offers 156 guestrooms in the four-story Main Building, and 56 suites in the 14-story South Tower. Rooms include kitchenettes and shared balconies, while suites feature kitchens and private balconies. Both kitchens and kitchenettes contain full-sized refrigerators, two-burner stovetops, microwaves, dishwashers, cookware, coffeemakers, and tableware for four. The Lido Beach Resort faces its own private stretch of a five-mile, sugar-sand beach along the Gulf of Mexico. Activities include swimming, surfing, sea kayaking, and snorkeling (equipment for rent on mainland).
Two freeform pools overlook the beach. Located in the South Tower, the fitness center is open from early morning until late night and offers a wide array of cardio and weight equipment, two TVs, and showers.
The southern end of Lido Key offers nature trails and canoeing in placid waters. Anglers can test their skills on deep-sea fishing charters. Dozens of public golf courses are within 15 miles. The municipal Bobby Jones Golf Complex, about seven miles away, offers 45 holes of play, a driving range, a putting green, a pro shop, and a restaurant. The top-ranked Legacy Golf Club, designed by Arnold Palmer and managed by Troon Golf®, is about 15 miles away.
