Rooms
Rio Mar Beach Resort & Spa offers 600 guestrooms in a seven-story Spanish-style building. Two oceanfront pools provide freshwater swimming Flanked by thickly cushioned wood lounge chairs, a 32-m (105-ft) freeform "quiet" pool with rock waterfall is paired with an eight-person spa tub. Flanked by padded lounge chairs, a 61-m (200-ft) freeform activities pool with an 18.25-m (60-ft) water slide and a volleyball net is paired with a 20-person spa tub. Adjacent to the activities pool is a 6.75-m (22-ft) toddlers' pool paired with fountains spurting up from a play area.
Rental cabanas on pools' sundecks are furnished with thickly cushioned wood lounge chairs and come with snacks, beverages, and pool-concierge services.
A 1.5-km (1-mi) beach with hammocks and wood-shingle shades extends past the resort. A water-sports center rents personal watercraft, small sailboats, kayaks, and boogie boards and, for surcharges, offers kite surfing, banana-boating, and parasailing.
