Hotel Information: Inspired by Art Deco boutique hotels in Miami's South Beach, the San Juan Water and Beach Club Hotel attracts couples with its sleek design elements such as waterfall walls in the lobby, hallways, and elevators, and an unabashed romantic ambience. The small, limestone-floor lobby sets the tone with frosted glass, a violet-lighted ceiling, two-story white sheer curtains, and an acrylic waterfall wall. Chrome-door elevators offer clear-ceilinged views of mechanical workings illuminated by blue fluorescent lights.
Amenity highlights: On the roof are a bar/lounge/sushi bar named Wet and a 20-by-10-foot rooftop pool. Adjacent to the pool are lounge chairs and a white-vinyl lounging bed measuring 12 by 10 feet. The rooftop provides panoramic ocean and city views. Seasonal menu of selections such as braised short ribs with honey-hoisin sauce, cassia-smoked chicken breast with coconut-Chinese-barbecue sauce, roasted salmon with Boursin and caramelized green onion purée. Dinner only. Closed Sunday, Monday.
