Hotel Information: Inspired by San Francisco literary salons of the 1920s and ’30s, Hotel Rex dates from 1907 and projects an upscale bohemian ambience. An eclectic collection of objets d’art, portraits, and antique books distinguishes the lounge where literary events and live jazz sessions are held. This seven-story boutique hotel offers 94 guestrooms in a variety of configurations. A Provençal palette of burnt yellow, sky blue, citrus green, and deep burgundy complements the hand-painted lampshades and other works by local artisans.
