Standing 13 stories high, the Imperial contains 288 guestrooms and faces a leafy car park opposite, providing more substantial views to the east. Its décor is a mixture of European tradition and Japanese formal. The hotel’s focal point is the central lobby with a towering atrium from where the hotel’s many restaurants and rooms can be accessed. Each floor opens with an inward-facing balcony looking down over this space. The 13th-floor fitness center includes a treadmill, rowing machine, and stationary bicycle. Chiang Kai-Shek International (TPE): Approximate travel time is 40 minutes and distance is 45 km (28 miles).

Getting there: The most practical airport transport options are taxi and shuttle bus. Rental cars are not recommended for travelers unfamiliar with this area. Taxis are widely available to and from the airport. The shuttle buses depart to and from the airport approximately every 20 minutes on several routes, which include a number of the major hotels. Getting around: Taxis are the most practical transport solution for trips around Taipei’s metropolitan areas. Bus and train networks exist but demand a sound grasp of route maps and Taipei’s geography.

Schedules and directions (subject to change without notice): Airport shuttle services are available from early morning until late night. Shuttle bus companies have ticket vendors at the airport to the left after the international departures exit. The majority of Taipei hotels can be found along one of the bus routes, though the bus stop may be around the corner from the hotel. Guests should be sure to clarify exact directions with the ticket vendor.
