Hotel Information: Historic Gothic Revival meets urban contemporary at the Emily Morgan Hotel. Adjacent to the famous Alamo, this 14-story hotel is a modern oasis surrounded by Texas history. Polished stone floors and Texas limestone blends with traditional mahogany furnishings and custom fabrics. A transparent stone fireplace flanks a commanding central staircase.
Insider tip: In February of 2000, workers in the Alamo discovered a series of frescoes painted on one of the walls in the 1700s. Historians believe that friars living in the former mission directed workers to paint in a style prominent in Mexico City during the 1500s. Guests can view the frescoes for free.

ORO Restaurant and Bar - This warm and sophisticated restaurant overlooks the gardens of the Alamo and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Banquettes are lit with votive candles for intimate conversations or for business meetings. The Mediterranean menu changes seasonally, and features Maine Lobster Macaroni and Cheese. Martinis made with premium vodka are offered at a discounted price with lunch on Tuesdays and Fridays. There is also a weekend breakfast buffet that includes champagne and mimosas. Room service is available 24 hours a day.
