Recreation

Snow-Cat skiing is the latest thrill at Alta, and Ski Utah guides show advanced skiers backcountry routes linking five Wasatch Range resorts. Alta's Alf Engen Ski School offers an environmental education program through Children's Ski Adventures called Ske-Cology that tours four interactive trails in the Albion Basin.

Open only during the ski season, the four-story lodge features an east and west wing for guestrooms with mountain or valley views. Each room comes with an equipment locker near the Ski Rental and Repair Shop. A gift shop sells mountain merchandise. The hotel provides massages, a video game arcade, board games, and table tennis. Wireless Internet access is available in the lobby. A complimentary shuttle van serves nearby Alta ski area, and complimentary public transportation to Snowbird ski area stops just in front of the lodge.

Alta Peruvian Lodge Restaurant - With a floor-to-ceiling glass terrace facing the slopes, stunning mountain views accompany bountiful breakfast and lunch buffets and large-portion dinners. Rustic, with exposed beams and large wooden furnishings, yet refined, with white linen tablecloths, the restaurant offers family-style dining. Saturday night?s Grand Buffets are particularly popular, as is the piano entertainment. Box lunches can be taken for the day?s adventure. Alta Peruvian Lodge Bar - Outfitted in red leather and wood, this Western-theme lounge upstairs is open evenings for complimentary appetizers and après ski conversation with the locals.
