Hotel Information: Dating to 1943 when it opened as a bingo parlor, this hotel provided Reno's first casino and has expanded over the decades until it now occupies both sides of North Center Street, with a casino and guestroom tower on each side.
Escalators lead to a second-story skybridge spanning the street. The skybridge contains slot machines and restaurants.
Amenity highlights: Open during warm-weather months, a fifth-floor pool deck provides swimming and sunning opportunities. An adjacent health spa provides saunas, steam rooms, spa tubs for relaxed soaking, tanning rooms, and massage. Named for Sammy Davis, Jr., Sammy's Showroom offers an evening performance by entertainers such as impersonator/singer/comic Gordie Brown, and occasional late-night acts. The intimate theater seats 400 and features booths terraced down toward the stage. The showroom features the show Greg London's Icons with singing, dancing, and comedy, which takes audiences through more than five decades of music's biggest stars.
Sleek and contemporary with neon-orange lighting in ceiling recesses, black wood, and a lighted bar top, the cigar-friendly Sapphire Lounge features live blues or jazz Thursday through Saturday nights along with specialty martinis.
Graced by mosaic pillars, golden chandeliers, and wall sconces, Harrah's two casinos supply 69,000 square feet of slots, video poker, blackjack, craps, roulette, pai gow poker, keno, and baccarat.
