Recreation

Raiatea Island is the second largest in French Polynesia and provides many water- and land-based activities for guests. An on-site dive centre arranges local dives (surcharge), and the hotel tour service can assist guests with vehicle, cycle, horse and water-craft hire for exploring the island (surcharge). Tours of Raiatea and Tahaa Islands, including picnics and hiking, are available (surcharge).

River cruises allow guests to visit vanilla factories and pearl farms. Snorkelling, diving, and boating within the lagoon area of Raiatea and Tahaa islands can be arranged. Boat rentals allow guests to visit white-sand beaches like Motu Naonao, Opeha Point, Motu Tautau and Motu Tehutu, all located within the island reef lagoon. A passenger ferry service connects Raiatea with Bora Bora.

Location Details

Raiatea Airport (RFP): Approximate travel time is 10 minutes and distance is 4 kilometers.

Getting there: Guests arrive at Tahiti Faa’a International Airport (FAAA) in Papeete, then transfer to one of the daily 35-minute flights to Raiatea Airport. From there, taxis, rental cars or airport transfers provide the best options for reaching the Raiatea Hawaiki Nui Hotel. Car rentals are available online. Instructions: Taxis are available at the airport, and guests are advised to request the hotel to pre-book the taxi. For those not pre-booked, it is suggested that guests look for taxis with a Tahitian Tiare Blossom insignia on the taxi light, as this symbol indicates that the driver speaks English. Guests should tell the driver to take them directly to the Resort.

Nordby - With views over the swimming pool, the casual ambience of The Nordby is enhanced by Polynesian architecture, a high thatched-roof, and open walls. Dishes have Polynesian and French influences, and focus mainly on fresh seafood. Open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Nordby Bar - This indoor-outdoor bar is located next to the swimming pool.
