Travel Details

Paradise Village Beach Resort and Spa

Hotel Information: Secluded at the end of a peninsula between the Pacific Ocean and inland canals, Paradise Village Beach Resort offers complete holidays for families and couples in a Mayan-theme setting.

Adults dress up for dinner, strolling to restaurants in the resort's shopping mall, to restaurants in the hotel, and along the beachfront, which is illuminated by lights wrapped around hundreds of palm tree trunks.

Amenity highlights: Gentle surf laps the 274.5m (900-ft) beach furnished with 250 thatched-roof palapas fronting the beach resort.

Two freeform pools lie along the beachfront. One is 46m (150 ft), and features a children’s section and a crocodile-shaped slide curled around a grotto sheltering a 12-person spa tub. The other is 58m (190 ft) and features two crocodile-shaped slides and a raised 14-person spa tub.

A 28-by-6m (90-by-20-ft) lap pool is secluded in a garden.

Insider tip: Beginning in early morning, low-cost shuttle-bus service operates between the beach resort's shopping mall and downtown Puerto Vallarta, 22 km (13.5 mi) away.

The main tower comprises two wings flanking a skylighted atrium lobby featuring a central fountain and cushioned rattan seating. The other features a garden-atrium lobby with overstuffed seating.

Contemporary decor features slate-colored tile floors, glass-topped dining tables, cushioned rattan chairs, artificial plants, and Mayan-inspired art. Ceiling fans offer cooling alternatives to suites' air conditioning.

Kitchens have two-burner stovetops, microwaves, full-size refrigerators, toasters, blenders, and coffee/tea makers. (Coffee supplies are included, for a surcharge.) In addition, guests may prepare meals using the beach resort's complimentary propane-powered, outdoor barbecue grills.

Laundry and dry-cleaning pickup is not offered in suites, but there is a laundry/dry-cleaning shop in the resort's shopping mall, 138 m (150 yds) from the hotel's main entrance.
