Insider tip: Vyšehrad Park, which lies 500 metres away on the other side of Vyšehrad metro station, was once home to Czech royalty and Prague’s old ‘high castle’. The Vyšehrad citadel, cathedral and cemetery, the final resting place of many fallen Czech heroes, are also located here.

The Apollo Day Spa and Fitness Centre (surcharge for access) on the top floor is home to the hotel’s indoor pool, which is surrounded on three sides by floor-to-ceiling windows, and provides panoramic views across Prague. On the other side of the pool is a dark, slate wall concealing showers, saunas and steam rooms. The centre also contains a full range of exercise equipment.
