Hotel Information: Opened in 2003, the hotel attracts musically inclined guests--sometimes with like-minded teenage children--as well as other leisure and business travelers who appreciate the hotel's proximity to numerous Prague attractions.

Rooms
The Aria Hotel, Prague, offers 52 guestrooms with double-glazed windows in three five-story buildings constructed in the 1910s around two courtyards. Each of four guestroom floors celebrates a different musical genre (classical, contemporary, opera, jazz), and each room honors an individual performing artist or composer such as Puccini, Dizzy Gillespie, Dvorak, and Mozart.
A computer with flat-screen monitor providing complimentary Internet access includes a biography and CDs of the honored musician. Original artwork contributes to each room's theme. Guests borrow music, movies, and music videos from the hotel's complimentary library for rooms' CD/DVD players, which have sound systems specifically designed for the hotel's rooms.
Decor/artwork varies, but all rooms have platform beds with leather headboards, Egyptian-cotton linens, down comforters and pillows, bed throws and throw pillows, desks, reading chairs, small tables, and Frette Italian bathrobes and slippers. Three telephones include one cordless. Bathrooms have heated gray-granite floors and matching vanities, shower/tub combinations with showerheads, bidets, Molton Brown toiletries from London, and orchid plants.

Recreation
An ice-skating rink is formed in Old Town Square during winter. Running/walking paths lie along the Vltava (Moldava) River, and rowboats can be rented on the river during summer. Petřín Hill, accessible from the Little Quarter (Malá Strana) via a funicular railroad 600 meters (600 yards) from the hotel, contains a network of parks for walking, jogging and cycling.

The Aria Hotel lobby contains a long, curved, red-leather bench in the reception area and a 4.5-meter (15-foot) silk-brocade couch and red-draped wall in an adjacent salon. Live orchids and potted plants grace public areas. Mosaic tiles depicting a Gregorian-chant music-note pattern curve sinuously through public areas. During conversion of the three 1910 buildings comprising the hotel, façades were restored, murals were painted on exteriors, and peaked glass roofs over courtyards were constructed to create three atriums.
Overseen by a librarian with a music doctorate, and staffed by librarians/concierges, a music library with red-leather seating, a large plasma-screen television, and cordless headphones provides complimentary DVD movies and music videos, cassette music videos, and CDs.
Guests have complimentary use of a 30-seat screening room featuring a 218-by-122-cm(86-by-48-inches) rear-projection screen, a surround-sound system, and moveable high-backed theater chairs. Here guests watch DVD movies and music videos from the hotel's library or watch television. Nightly, the screening room presents a program selected by librarians. Guests may request specific movies/videos to be included.

Lunch/dinner menu with choices such as duck-confit/foie-gras terrine, beef carpaccio, tuna tartar, eggplant/zucchini soufflé, bouillabaisse, pappardelle with wild mushrooms, roasted cod, grilled seabass, roasted rack of lamb, grilled venison with truffled gnocchi, Czech goulash with dumplings.
