Hotel Information: Occupying a 1912 building, formerly the Mallory Hotel, Hotel deLuxe evokes Hollywood's Golden Age while offering modern amenities. An award-winning restoration includes a lobby with coffered ceiling, gilded accents, antique chandeliers, and a video wall with a rotating display of vintage film stills. Each guestroom floor pays tribute to a director, such as Alfred Hitchcock, with photos from films.
Amenity highlights: Inspired by legendary Hollywood eateries such as the Brown Derby, the on-site Gracie's restaurant offers an elegant, high-ceilinged setting for American comfort foods with Pacific Northwest accents. The Driftwood Room bar, decorated in a noirish Art Deco style, is an intimate gathering place for cocktails and conversation.

Insider tip: If you're visiting Pioneer Courthouse Square, be sure to check out the Weather Machine. This innovative creation consists of three weather symbols, each representing an element of Portland's typical climate. Each day at noon a musical fanfare initiates a two-minute sequence, with the appearance of one of three weather symbols: A stylized sun for clear, sunny days; a blue heron for drizzly days and transitional weather; and a dragon for stormy days.
Rooms
Guestrooms feature large, flat-panel, high-definition LCD TVs; iPod docking stations with iPod menus; and a unique Spiritual Menu, where guests can select a book that fits their spiritual needs. Beds come with pillowtop mattresses, luxury linens, soft duvets, and pillow menus.
Wireless Internet access is available for a surcharge. A "Make It So" button in each room provides instant access to concierge services. Bathrooms include Carrera marble floors, shower/tub combinations, and Aveda products. All guestrooms are nonsmoking.
