Recreation
The recreational opportunities at the Hunter Resort include ‘hands on’ cooking classes in a purpose-built cooking school kitchen at the resort. Classes feature cheese tasting at the Binnorie Cheese Factory, and a three-course lunch cooked by class participants. The resort winery offers a wine tasting cellar, tours, and a Wine School. Brewery tours are also available. Extensive massage and body treatments are available at the resort, as well as horse riding.
The Hunter Valley Resort is located in the centre of the Hunter Valley wine region. Guests may visit the Hunter Valley Gardens, take a Horse and Carriage Tour, visit the many wineries, shop, or play golf. Hot air ballooning can be arranged through the resort.

Driving directions from Sydney International Airport (SYD): Exit the airport, following the signs to the city. Take the Harbour Bridge or Harbour Tunnel north, following the signs to the North Coast & Newcastle. At Wahroonga, turn right onto the F1 Freeway. Follow the Freeway for approximately one hour, and then take the Cessnock exit. Follow signs to Cessnock, and then to Branxton. On the way to Branxton, turn left into Broke Road, just after Cessnock Airport. Follow Broke Road to the end, turn left then immediately right at Hunter Valley Gardens. Follow Broke Road past Tyrrell’s Vineyard, and turn right into Hermitage Road. The Hunter Resort is on the right hand side.
