Recreation

The Cape Panwa Hotel offers many on-site recreational activities including a 300-meter (330 yards) stretch of private beach. Motor boating, sailing, windsurfing, banana boat rides, and water skiing (all surcharge) are available. Complimentary activities include canoeing, daytime tennis, scuba diving lessons in the pool (three times weekly), and cultural activities such as learning Thai, fruit and veggie carving, floral design, and napkin folding. Two pools are on site; the main pool has a wooden deck, sun lounges with shades, adjoining children’s pool, and is surrounded by palm trees. The beach pool overlooks the ocean, and features a pavilion with spa tub. For children, the resort has a playground on the beach, and games room with video games, table tennis, and card and board games. The fitness center, complete with cardiovascular machines such as a treadmill, and stationery bike, also includes sauna, spa tub, and locker rooms. Other recreational choices include a tropical-themed spa with eight treatment rooms, aerobics lessons, and massage on the beach (all surcharge).

The hotel yachts offer scheduled snorkeling excursions to Coral Island, or private trips to Phi Phi Island (surcharge and weather permitting). The nearest 18-hole golf course is at the Phuket Country Club 15 km (9 miles) away, where nonmembers are welcome.

Phuket International Airport (HKT): Approximate travel time is 45 minutes and distance is 40 km (25 miles).

Getting there: The best option to get to the hotel is via hotel shuttle or limo service. The service comes with an airport representative meeting guests at the arrival hall. The next alternative is private cars that serve as taxis in Phuket. Several transportation booths are available after the baggage claim area and trips are priced per car per way, and maximum four passengers to a car; mini vans are for up to six passengers. Shared shuttle is also available, however the time and distance varies according to the location and number of passengers to drop off. Car rentals are available online. However, guests must contact the hotel at least 48 hours prior to arrival in order to give the staff an estimated time of arrival.
