Hotel Information: The Garden of Eden provides the inspiration for this Old Town Scottsdale resort. Guests pass through 25-foot "gates" of bougainvillea to a red carpet with stenciled leaves. A cooling fountain and elegant white drapes grace the lobby, together with antique mirrors, a long serpentine bench, and motifs of clouds and cherubs. A landscaped garden highlights the desert environment and mountain views.
Amenity highlights: Asia de Cuba restaurant attracts both locals and hotel guests with its fusion of Asian and Cuban cuisine. The Garden of Eden theme continues at the aptly named Red Bar, with its oversized apple centerpiece, while the Midnight Room features an outdoor fireplace and beds for relaxing under the stars. The Mondrian also offers two pools and an oversized spa tub, as well as an on-site health club and the full-service Agua Spa.
Insider tip: The Pink Pony Steakhouse, a legendary hangout for generations of baseball managers, coaches, players, and writers during spring training, is four blocks from the hotel in Old Town Scottsdale.
