Hotel Information: The Park City Marriott is a timbered-and-gabled hotel in the Prospector Square shopping-and-office plaza. In the two-level lobby, caramel-colored leather couches face a stone fireplace; wrought-iron chandeliers are suspended from the beamed ceiling. On the mezzanine, guests work at laptops via wireless Internet access or relax in Western-style furniture, including big leather chairs embossed with silhouettes of cowhands.
Amenity highlights: The casual Park City Grill showcases “mountain comfort food,” including slow-roasted rotisserie chicken and pork, grilled salmon filet, and Steak Jack Daniels. Seasonal patio dining is available. The restaurant shares a two-sided fireplace with the Timbers sports bar.
The kidney-shaped atrium pool adjoins a large furnished patio reminiscent of a European sidewalk café. The hotel is official headquarters of the Sundance Film Festival, held each winter.
Insider tip: The 30-mile Union Pacific Rail Trail, a five-minute walk from the hotel, attracts hikers and mountain bikers. Even a short jog rewards with bird-watching opportunities and scenic views. The trail travels through sage and bitterbrush hills near town to Echo Reservoir. Other trails into the mountains branch off from the mostly-level Rail Trail. The hotel rents mountain bikes.

Recreation
The hotel has a kidney-shaped atrium pool. A fitness room contains cardio machines, resistance equipment, free weights, and two TVs. A steam room and indoor spa tub are adjacent.
The Park City Mountain Resort, one mile away, has 3,300 skiable acres; 14 lifts provide access to 100 trails. Trails are 18 percent beginner, 44 percent intermediate, and 38 percent advanced. Snowboarding is permitted throughout, including four terrain parks.
The Deer Valley Resort, three miles from the hotel, offers 1,750 skiable acres; 19 lifts provide access to 88 trails and six bowls. Trails are 15 percent beginner, 50 percent intermediate, and 35 percent advanced (no snowboarding).
Five miles away at The Canyons, 16 lifts provide access to 148 trails on 3,500 acres. Trails are 14 percent beginner, 44 percent intermediate, and 42 percent advanced. A terrain park and natural halfpipes lure snowboarders.
The 18-hole, par 72 Park City Golf Course is a half-mile away. The course is used for cross-country skiing in the winter.
