Insider tip: The Yap Stone, one of the world's largest coins, is on display just outside the Currency Museum of the Bank of Canada. More than 2 meters (6.5 feet) in diameter, weighing about 3 tons, and shaped like a huge flattened donut, it's not exactly pocket change. The coin is from the island of Yap in Micronesia. The museum is 4 blocks from the hotel, and admission is free.

This 31-story Ottawa hotel offers a choice of studio and one-bedroom suites, both with plenty of room for work and relaxation. Studio suites have kitchenettes with microwave ovens, compact refrigerators, sinks, kettles, toasters, coffeemakers, and dishes.
One-bedroom suites have kitchens with full-size refrigerators, stoves, dishwashers, microwaves, sinks, kettles, toasters, pots, pans, coffeemakers, cooking utensils, dishes, and silverware. In addition, one-bedroom suites include two TVs, washer/dryers, and separate living rooms and dining areas.
High-speed and TV Internet access are available for a surcharge. Safes accommodate laptops. Bathrooms have shower/tub combinations and telephones. Suites on upper floors, facing west, overlook the Ottawa River. Beds in almost all suites come with pillowtop mattresses (not guaranteed).
