Hotel Information: Sliding-glass doors at the base of this 18-story tower usher guests into a wide, atrium-style marble lobby. Soft music piped into the public areas accompanies the chatter of business guests sipping beverages at the lounge or strolling to the shopping area for a browse in one of the boutiques. Though many travelers come for the hotel’s proximity to surrounding technology offices, only a pedestrian bridge separates it from Osaka Castle, which is 300 meters (300 yards) away. The hotel is 40 minutes by train to World Heritage Sites in Kyoto and Nara, and 90 minutes by train to Himeji Castle.
Amenity highlights: Active guests can choose from two pools, two tennis courts, weight and fitness equipment at the health club, or a paved walkway that follows the adjacent Neyagawa River. Yet more options are available for hungry guests, who can select from 12 on-site restaurants, bars, and cafes. These include a signature French restaurant overlooking the city and a Teppan grill with views of Osaka Castle.
Insider tip: Spring brings blossoms to the cherry trees lining the Neyagawa River, making it an ideal time to take a sightseeing river cruise. Cruises depart just across the pedestrian bridge from the hotel.

Getting around: Osaka’s subway system is the most economical and efficient means of exploring the city, as the bus system does not have English signage and taxis can be costly (fares start at around JPY1,000 – US$9). Accessible at nearby Osaka-jo Koen Station, a three-minute walk from the hotel, the JR Loop Line snakes throughout the city aboveground and connects to all subway lines. Fares range from JPY120 (US$1) to JPY190 (US$2). Subway fares begin at JPY200 (US$3) and cars run in three- to five-minute intervals from early morning until late evening. Commuter ticket windows in major subway stations sell one-day passes providing unlimited municipal transportation on subways, a tram line to the port area, and city buses. Subway maps can also be obtained at the stations, hotel, and most city tourist offices.
